Opal
Instrumental
At the Shifting of the Tide
(Chapter I: "ODISSEY BECKONS")
A strange sun emerges
Over the mists clouding Evertide
It irks down my soul
And compels me to rise
Out the inn, through the docks,
Morning shines like a battlehorn
A merchant of stones
Offers us passage beyond…
I recall his red eyes, gleaming maliciously
Like darkened rubies under the turban
He asked us, in an almost alien tone,
how far have we come, and how far dare we go…
Scattered, despondent, like a grain of sand
Lost in the throes of the storm
We reach outwards into the Sea
For the memory of who we were
Fractured, disembodied
Left with nothing but Oblivion to take us
Over the waves
(Chapter II: "SKYWARDS")
Kuranes, the first Dreamer King,
Ruling over Dreamland and the Opal Sea
We follow in your footsteps,
like milestones on the trail,
Of Puzzling signs and beckoning galaxies
And though our sails seems still
We drag further away, violently
Shaken by the winds of change
As if they feared what lies in wait
Beyond watery stars, a city
Bright above the towering waves
Our white ship drifts, I feel it ascending
The horizon ever bleeding out your name
Skywards
Skywards
Skywards
(Chapter III: "THE BREACH")
And wasn't it better to let go
Than to start a new life?
Forever feeling the vision die away
And somehow… somehow survive
Year after year
To tell a broken tale
No one cares to remember
Any martyrdom but their own
Pain…
Pain I cannot curb,
Will you finally turn to joy,
When we reach the other side
Of the Opal Sea?
We can almost taste it
The Wheel realigns
The last portal slides open
At the shifting of the tide
Celephaïs
(Chapter I: "BEACONS")
There is a voice in our sleep
It repeats the same words all through the night
Not unlike a guiding beacon
Showing us the way to the dreamers' domes
We do not know the language it speaks
But we understand it
As if it was our own
"Hün Ayuserïs"
At the turning…
"Do Reis'moran"
…of the tides
"Lüs Aena"
The bronzen light…
"Drome Uy'n"
…will guide you to…
"Celephaïs"
…Celephaïs
“Hün Ayuserïs Do Reis'moran
Lüs Aena Drome Uy'n Celephaïs”
(Chapter II: "THE SPELL")
Tempest Divinity,
Ocean Tyrant!
From moss-covered temples
In lurking ageless slumber
Bruised and torn
The Voice growls a warning
A Toll must be payed
By the dreamers
Who dare approach
the infinite shallows of Fate
Harvester
From the Depths!
Chanting
Evocating
Giving shape
Giving
Birth
Extoll
Breathe in
Submerge
(Chapter III: "THE AUGURS' PROMISE")
Down beneath halls of darkness
There's a light that cannot be named
And those who lay their eyes upon it
They are never the same
And like the turning of a tide
They are doomed to quest
The furthest reaches of the Ashlands
Fearing not pain nor death
For the promise of the Augurs
In black lava engraved:
“Hün Ayuserïs Do Reis'moran
Lüs Aena Drome Uy'n Celephaïs”
(Chapter IV: "REACHING CELEPHAÏS")
Then finally
As if in a dream
An opening appears
In the misty horizon
As the clouds part sideways
Revealing the shape
Of a giant city
High above the waves
Our ultimate Sanctuary
I can see it now
The land that was promised
A new beginning
Diamond domes
And ivory towers
The sapphire roads
The Street of Pillars
Gives us back
What we have lost
Crystal is my heart
Forever reaching
Celephaïs
